John DeStefano Wants Illegals to be able to Vote in New Haven

[caption id="attachment_5207" align="aligncenter" width="256" caption="John DeStefano Wants Illegals to Vote. That's Ridiculous."]John DeStefano Wants Illegals to Vote[/caption] John DeStefano, the mayor of New Haven, Connecticut who lost a discrimination case in the Supreme Court, is planning to ask the state legislature to allow illegal immigrants to vote in city municipal elections. This isn't the first bit of craziness coming out of New Haven, according to NBC Connecticut:

New Haven made national headlines in 2007 when the city approved a program that provides municipal identification cards for all residents -- including illegal immigrants -- to provide access to services such as banking and the library.
Here's the fundamental problem with allowing this to happen: it undermines American sovereignty. By creating exceptions to our laws, we no longer have sovereign control of our nation. This is especially true when we afford voting rights to non-citizens. If you think this is as absurd as I and many others do, then please exercise your right to petition Mayor DeStefano to not ask his legislature to do this by e-mailing him at

Could Ron Paul Win It All?

By: James Tyler Categories:2012 Election

[caption id="attachment_3282" align="aligncenter" width="490" caption="Can Ron Paul Win Iowa? What about the nomination?"]Can Ron Paul Win Iowa?[/caption] Despite that the media and both major parties are committed to ignoring the candidacy of Ron Paul, he's proving that traditional campaigning and a consistent message are, in fact, still relevant in today's politics. From the Daily Caller:

Paul has consistently placed in the top tier of Republican presidential candidates in recent Iowa polls. With Iowans heading to vote in only three weeks, Gingrich holds a razor-thin 22–21 lead.
(As a quick side note, I'm encouraged that this story has stayed on the top of the Drudge Report for as long as it has.) The thing that people don't realize is that polls are largely irrelevant when it comes to Iowa caucuses, which are heavily lopsided to candidates that have a strong organization. Iowa has 1,784 precincts where individual caucuses occur and each caucus starts off with people making their case for their candidate. If Paul were to win Iowa, I have little doubt that he could win New Hampshire. I'm sure he would continue to be marginalized in the media, but New Hampshire is really more up his alley demographically and would be more receptive to his foreign policy ideas, which are probably his biggest inhibitor in Iowa. Additionally, if Paul were to win Iowa, he would see an explosion of contributions from his loyal followers. This monstrous cash flow could ensure that he does well in New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Florida. [poll id="8"]

U.S. Planning Unmanned Border Entry From Mexico

In light of the Drug War that is currently being waged in Mexico, it would only be prudent of our government to be planning a border entry that has no customs agents whatsoever. Here are some details from Fox News:

By the spring, kiosks could open up in Big Bend National Park allowing people from the tiny Mexican town of Boquillas del Carmen to scan their identity documents and talk to a customs officer in another location, at least 100 miles away. The crossing, which would be the nation's first such port of entry with Mexico, has sparked opposition from some who see it as counterintuitive in these days of heightened border security. Supporters say the crossing would give the isolated Mexican town long-awaited access to U.S. commerce, improve conservation efforts and be an unlikely target for criminal operations.
How would the town be an unlikely target for criminal operations? Just because it's remote? If anything, the town would become more of a target because there will be less law enforcement agents. Were Las Vegas or Tahoe unlikely targets for criminal operations of the mob because they were remote? Moreover, why should our government be concerned with the economic stability of this small town? By creating this unmanned crossing, we are only losing money and putting our national security at risk. Moves like this undermine our national sovereignty through effective degradation of our borders and as a drain on our treasury.  Click here to e-mail William Wellman, the park's superintendent and supporter of this move, to tell him that you are against this weakening of our border. DNC Releasers First Attack Ad on Gingrich

By: James Tyler Categories:2012 Election

Newt and PelosiSo, at 1:41AM this morning the DNC released a sloppily produced video attacking Newt Gingrich - the first against him after months of producing dozens of videos and e-mails against Mitt Romney. Here's the ad:

I find it hard to believe that Gingrich - who has supported an individual mandate, climate change legislation, bank bailouts, took $1.6 million from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and much more - is winning hearts over with the Tea Party. Here's a playlist I put together that outlines the true political character of Gingrich:
