Could Ron Paul Win It All? Could Ron Paul Win It All?(0)

Despite that the media and both major parties are committed to ignoring the candidacy of Ron Paul, he’s proving that traditional campaigning and a consistent message are, in fact, still relevant in today’s politics.

From the Daily Caller:

Paul has consistently placed in the top tier of Republican presidential candidates in recent Iowa polls. With Iowans heading to vote in only three weeks, Gingrich holds a razor-thin 22–21 lead.

(As a quick side note, I’m encouraged that this story has stayed on the top of the Drudge Report for as long as it has.)

The thing that people don’t realize is that polls are largely irrelevant when it comes to Iowa caucuses, which are heavily lopsided to candidates that have a strong organization. Iowa has 1,784 precincts where individual caucuses occur and each caucus starts off with people making their case for their candidate.

If Paul were to win Iowa, I have little doubt that he could win New Hampshire. I’m sure he would continue to be marginalized in the media, but New Hampshire is really more up his alley demographically and would be more receptive to his foreign policy ideas, which are probably his biggest inhibitor in Iowa. Additionally, if Paul were to win Iowa, he would see an explosion of contributions from his loyal followers. This monstrous cash flow could ensure that he does well in New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Florida.

Can Ron Paul win either the Iowa caucuses or the GOP nomination?
